Mussia Corbin Obituary

SKOWHEGAN -- Mussia M. Corbin, 86, went home to the Lord on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Cedar Ridge Center with her family by her side.

Born in Caswell on April 11, 1922, she was the daughter of Joseph Sr. and Christine (Searles) Lennon. She was a communicant of the Notre Dame De Lourdes Church in Skowhegan and a longtime member of the Daughters of Isabella.

She married Gerald Joseph Corbin of Caribou on March 27, 1941, in Bristol, Conn. He predeceased her in 1997.

She is survived by her daughters, Rosemarie (Webb) and her husband, Wilford, of Canaan, Sharon (Webb) and her husband, Randall, of Connecticut and Florida, and Dorothy Corbin of Skowhegan; her brother, Ronald Lennon of Dixmont; and sister, Constance (Turcotte) and her husband, Lew, of Lewiston. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mussia was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Christine Lennon; her husband, Gerald Joseph Corbin; her sons, Richard Joseph and Gerald Eugene Corbin; her brothers, Sterling, Joseph Jr., Tom, Darryl and Fredrick; and her sisters, Diana Johnston and Mona Lennon.

The family would like to thank her doctor, Dr. Roger Renfrew, the nursing staff at Redington Fairview General Hospital, all the wonderful, loving nurses, certified nursing assistants and entire staff at Cedar Ridge Center, for their constant devotion to give her the most loving and respectful care possible.

A celebration of Mussia's life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Notre Dame De Lourdes Church in Skowhegan. Interment will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan.
