Lorette Pomerleau Obituary

WATERVILLE -- Lorette Tremblay Pomerleau, 99, passed away peacefully March 4, 2009, at Mount St. Joseph.

She had been a resident of Sunset Home of Waterville.

She was born Nov. 30, 1909, in Fairfield, the daughter of Joachim and Emer-enciene (Rodrigue) Tremblay.

She graduated from Thomas College and worked as a bookkeeper for Levine's Clothing Store for 47 years. She married Joseph Pomerleau in 1934. He predeceased her in 1969.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Joanne and Henry Vigue of Waterville; one granddaughter and her husband, Stephanie and Christopher Hite of Florence, S.C.; one grandson, Andrew Vigue of Boston; one great-grandson, Noah Hite of Florence, S.C.; one sister-in-law, Lorette Tremblay; and by many nieces and nephews.

Her grandchildren and great-grandson were the loves of her life.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Herman, Emmanuel, Gerard, Reginald, Norman, Lionel, and Joseph; and her sisters, Evangeline, Irene and Marie.

Visiting hours will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A funeral service will be take place at a later date and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, 101 Silver St., Waterville, ME 04901 or to Mount Merici School, 152 Western Ave., Waterville, ME 04901.

When I was a teenager I was fortunate to work with Lorette at Levine's. She ran a great office and taught us a lot about the right way to do business, doing all this with her wry sense of humor. She was one of a kind and will be missed.

Peter & I are so sorry to hear of Lorette's passing. She was a wonderful lady.

There are people you meet during your lifetime that leave an impression on you and Lorette was certainly that kind of person. We are very grateful we had the opportunity to know her and enjoy her company. She really touched our hearts.
