Jacqueline Desveaux Obituary

AUGUSTA -- Jacqueline J. Desveaux, 84, passed away at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge on March 5, 2009.

Jacqueline was born in Winslow on Feb. 10, 1925, the daughter of George Pouliotte and Delia (Bernier). Jacqueline was married to Alphonse Desveaux; they lived and raised their children in Waterville.

She enjoyed music, shopping, working in her yard during the summer months and being a homemaker. Jackie also was a faithful Catholic, and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Jackie was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse J. Desveaux and her parents, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving sibling of 15 children.

Jackie is survived by four children, Daryl Desveaux of Waterville, Delia Shorey of Waterville, Gary Desveaux of Sidney, and Wayne Desveaux of Shawmut. She had seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. March 10 at Notre Dame Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
