Elizabeth Kolodynski Obituary

SKOWHEGAN -- Elizabeth "Betty" Kolodynski passed away March 10, 2009.

Elizabeth was born to Andrew Sima and Anna Gmitra in Mahwah, N.J. She married Stanley Kolodynski in Holy Spirit Church, Mahwah. They were married for 45 years before he passed away. She worked all of her life in the surrounding New York/New Jersey area as a seamstress until her retirement. Elizabeth moved to Skowhegan in December, 1996.

Elizabeth's favorite hobby was going out to dinner with family. In her later years, Mrs. Kolodynski was still mowing her lawn on her riding mower. She was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahwah and a communicant of the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Skowhegan.

Her surviving family members are: nephew Charles P. Paddock and his wife, Ramona; niece and goddaughter Jeanette H. Paddock; niece Marilyn Ann Paddock; nephew Jim Kostecky; brother-in-law Emil Kostecky; great-nieces Julie Pedro, Brigette Gallagher and Tim, Scarlett Deshong and Tim; great-great-nephews Roman and Wyatt Deshong and Gabriel Gallagher and great-great-niece Riley Gallagher.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church in Mahwah.

In lieu of flowers, please send donation to Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, Island Road at Church Street, P.O. Box 825, Mahwah, NJ 07430.

Local arrangements are in the care of Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.

May eternal light shine upon Elizabeth. We love you and will miss you!
