Ann-Marie Sheltra Legere PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -- Ann-Marie Sheltra Legere, beloved daughter of Donald and Frances Sheltra of Springvale, went to her Lord on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in Port Orchard, Wash., after a valiant and courageous fight with cancer. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor in October 2008. Ann-Marie relocated to Port Orchard, Wash., in 1998 after the death of her husband James Robert (Bob) Legere. Ann-Marie, born on May 25, 1950, in Sanford, possessed a great spirit of adventure. She and her husband took several 'barefoot cruises,' traveled to Australia and visited most of the Caribbean Islands. As a hobby, Ann-Marie became an accomplished stained glass artist. She will be remembered for her wonderful constant smile that brightened everyone's day. While in Port Orchard, Wash., she worked as a dental assistant for several years (a career she had pursued while living in Standish) and her latest employment was with Air Masters Inc. as office manager. Besides her Mom and Dad, Ann-Marie is survived by her special friend Dan Varick; brothers Rene of Lewiston, and Robert of Burien, Wash., sisters Catherine Wadja of Chicopee, Mass., and Ellen Sheltra of Island Pond, Vt.; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Yes, there are angels walking this earth! Ann-Marie, Donald and Frances are truly grateful to the people of Hospice for Kitsap County for their dedication, care and prayerful help they offered them during this very trying time. Thank you. A celebration of life will be held at St. Therese de Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. Please join the family to celebrate Ann-Marie's short but much appreciated life.
