Rosario Pellegrino Obituary

Rosario P. 'Pappy' Pellegrino, 56 LEBANON -- Rosario P. 'Pappy' Pellegrino, 56, of Lebanon, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Feb. 24, 2009, after a brief illness. Born in Pozzuoli, Italy on June 25, 1952, he is the son of Ernesto and Rosanna (Cavallaro) Pellegrino, both of whom predecease him. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Allison G. (Swett) Pellegrino of Lebanon; brother Aristide Pellegrino and his wife Anna Lisa Valentino; three nieces and a nephew all of Rome, Italy; and his devoted sister, Luisa Sheldon-Goodwin and husband Shawn of Berwick. He graduated from Noble High School in 1971 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After his tour of duty he was employed as a ship fitter at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard. He was a member of Strafford Masonic Lodge in Dover, N.H. He was a life long motorcycle and muscle car enthusiast, building, restoring and collecting vintage vehicles; an accomplished gardener and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, road trips on his Harley, visits to family in Italy, a challenging game of pool, target practicing, cookouts and lengthy fireside debates and storytelling with a close circle of friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford on Friday from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring in Evergreen Cemetery in Berwick. Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, Springvale. My sympathies go out to the family of Pete. I was a classmate and friend of Pete, back in our Berwick days. He was so kind and so much fun to be around. I always wondered what became of him and evidently he did very well and was happy. Sincerely, Ann Hodgkins
