Audrey Mooney Obituary

Audrey A. Mooney GRAY -- Audrey A. Mooney went to greet the Lord peacefully on March 6, 2009, at the Hospice House in Auburn. She was born on April 15, 1954, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Lorraine and the late Edward McGee. She graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago, Ill., and then received a bachelor's degree in Parks & Rec. Management and Forest Hydrology from University of Maine. After graduating she traveled throughout the country. Audrey is survived by her adoring husband Tom of Gray; daughters Kate of Vermont and Molly of Gray, and sons Brock of Scarborough and Thomas Jr., who is in basic training with the U.S. Army. She is also survived by her mother and sisters, Kathy Mlinarcik, Susan Tisza and Nancy Kelibasa, all of Chicago; and several extended family and friends. Audrey shared her many talents while employed in construction, running a Trailways Bus franchise in Florida as owner of Mainely Reed, as a display artist for L.L. Bean, advocating for cancer education, and most recently, at Gray/New Gloucester High School. Anyone who knew Audrey will miss her wonderful sense of humor, strength, and determination. She will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to share their life with her. A memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009, St. Gregory's Parish, North Raymond Road, Gray. Father Ford will be the Celebrant. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: The Cancer Community Center 778 Main St. South Portland, Maine 04106-5447 www.cancercommunitycenter. org/donate.htm Audrey A. Mooney

Oh Mumma,

I wish that I could come home right now and you would still be awake because you were so excited to see me and we could stay up the entire night with you inquiring about every little detail about life at St. Mike's. My heart aches knowing we won't share those moments anymore. Even a year later I can't wrap my mind around not seeing you again soon. I miss you and I love you.

To Audrey Family
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glitter on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn's rain
When you awaken in morning rush ,I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night .
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I'm not there! I did not die .
LOVE Audrey From Aunt Shirley

May God watch over her and bring comfort to her family and friends. Although I've never met Audrey, I know that if she was anything like Kate then heaven has been blessed with a beautiful soul.

Knowing Audrey has meant so much to me and countless others. I wish all of you comfort. I will never forget her loving support for all of you and how much she appreciated the good she saw in others. Unfortunately, I am in Alaska flying and working along the Iditarod Trail and will miss the events of the 11th. Please know that I am thinking of all of you and the many kindnesses that Audrey extended to me over the years. Take care and live the good lives that she would want us all to live.

As I look out onto the ocean from Vieques, I think of Audrey and her love of this place. I know her body is gone, but her spirit will remain and I will look for signs from her. She was a very special Hermana to me and I grieve deeply for her and will miss her warmth and sense of humor. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved her.
