Richard Storer Obituary

Richard Storer, 85 YARMOUTH -- Richard Quint Storer passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at the age of 85. Richard was born on March 12, 1923, in Yarmouth, to Raymond Edwin and Gladys MacDonald Storer. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; he is survived by his brother Harry Storer; daughter Susan H. Storer, and son John N. Storer, his wife; and two grandsons. He spent his entire life in Yarmouth with the exception of a tour of duty in the United States Navy during WWII. Richard was a graduate of North Yarmouth Academy and worked for Bancroft & Martin as a welder for 34 years. Richard was very involved in the community. He is a retired member of the Yarmouth Fire Department, a member and past commander of the American Legion Post # 91 for over 60 years, a member of the Amvets Post #2 and served on Boy Scout and Cub Scout committees. From a child he was an avid fisherman and could often be seen along the Royal River with a fly rod in hand. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, at 10 a.m., at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. I worked at Dennnuci's on the corner of Portland street. Dickie came in everyday for breakfast and lunch. He had a kind word and kind heart. He made our day every time he walked in. He always had a story and even forgave me for being a Yankee fan. He will be missed by many!
