Leo Paul Marquis

Leo Paul Marquis, 80 RUMFORD -- Leo Paul Marquis, 80, of Rumford, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the Rumford Community Home, Rumford. He was born in Livermore Falls on July 27, 1928, the son of Amatle and Clothilde (Phillippon) Marquis and graduated from Livermore High School Class of 1948. Leo was employed on the Super Calendars at Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford for over 37 years until retirement in 1986. He was a Communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior (St. Athanasius - St. John Church) in Rumford. Member of the Rumford Falls Aerie # 1248, F. O. E., and a former member of LeParesseux Snowshoe Club. He was married in Rumford on April 23, 1960, to the former Marian T. Martin who died in Rumford on June 3, 2000. Survivors include many nieces and nephews; and a special brother-in-law, Willie Martin of Rumford. He was predeceased by brothers, Gratien 'Mike,' Unald 'Joe,' Raymond and Paul Marquis. A special thank you to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and to the staff at the Rumford Community Home. There will be no public calling hours, but friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass, 11 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2009, at St. Athanasius - St. John Church, Rumford. Interment will be in the spring at St. John Cemetery, Rumford. Arrangements are under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
