I had always loved to read and my time in Mrs. Lambert's 11th grade English class was complete joy. She was also one of my favorite teachers at CHS--she is sincerely missed. (Class of "74)

We welcomed Lucy as a new teacher and soon found that she was more than just a teacher, but an encourger, a friend, someone to respect, and also to be able to enjoy a good laugh with us. Our prayers are with Eli and all her family.

Mrs. Lambert was an amazing force in my high school experience of English. Conservative in traditional values, innovative in creative approaches to independent study, she was always interesting. Her animated passion for teaching vocabulary instilled and fortified my love for words. Her desire to broaden student horizons involved frequent trips to urban museums, theaters, and cultural institutions. She actively balanced structure with unconventional methods of creative development. Due to her capacity for fostering cerebral adventure, fear of failure was healed. Writing was never a black/white, right/wrong experience. It was and remains to be an exploration of Self through tools of grammar, syntax, and imagination. Lucille Lambert will always thrive in the process of creative expression, whether written or read by those she taught. I remember her with tremendous love and gratitude.

We never met Lucille Lambert, but consider ourselves close friends of her daughter Lisa and her husband, Al Kirchner.
Judging by the admirable qualities and character of her daughter, she must have a wonderful mother besides such a talented, well remembered teacher. We send our prayers and condolences to the entire Lambert family.

I have only recently been advised of Dave's Mom passing. I wish to extend my deepest sorrow to Dave and his family. I did not know Mrs. Lambert but she was obviously a very good teacher and a wonderful mother to have developed a well respected son both professionally and socially.
My best wishes in the most difficult of times.

She taught us to write our thoughts down on paper and more. It is the more we will all miss.
My heart goes out to Eli and her family. She tutored me so I could go on to college. She edited my doctoral dissertation. When I needed a job. Her father hired me for the summer. Thank God for Lucille. She is in His hands. She left her mark on us all.

To the Lambert family,
My deepest sympathies. Mrs. Lambert was vibrant, intellectual, and kind-hearted. Little did her students know the impact she would have on them. I am certainly one of those students. Mrs. Lambert asked me to be her student secretary, a position I enjoyed. In fact, I still have the cute coffee mug she gave me as a thank-you gift.

Eli and Family,
Please accept my sincerest condolences and sympathy on the passing of Lucille.
As students we tend not to appreciate our teachers for what they do, and its not until we truly become adults that we understand and appreciate the tools they've provided us, and the impact they've had on our lives.
"Mrs. Lambert" was most certainly a gift to the Catasauqua Area School District and to every student who was priveleged enough to call her their teacher.
Sincerely,
Tracey Balliet

To the Lambert family,
I was not the best student in high school, but that was not going to stop Lucy Lambert from encouraging me to write poetry for The Drum or to appreciate good literature. She taught 3 generations of my family. They don't make teachers like her any more. She will be missed.

Dear Eli and family,
As childhood friends, Lucille and I got together in 1995 and reminisced about our years as playmates and students on Second Street in Catasauqua. We laughingly remembered the birthday parties and the street games we enjoyed together. We were competitors in high school and both of us became teachers. Lucille was a born teacher. She was so sincere as she helped not only her students but many people in the multi-faceted interests she explored. She contributed tol the cup of life for many people. I will always remember Lucille with fondness and admiration for being part of my life.

Dear Eli and family,
We are so sorry to hear about Lucille, Uncle Al called us Saturday. She was a very dear cousin, especially when she was so concerned about my health. So glad we could get together a few years ago with "the cousins". We won't be able to attend the funeral, but know our thoughts will be with you.
