"While doing research for a section of my book I discovered that Patrick Murphy had gone home to be with the Lord. I met Mr. Murphy here in DC while working for the elite Roving Leader Program for the DC Recreation Department (Youth Gang Task Force). He invited me and my co-workers to meet once a month with beat officers to enhance Community Relations. He was a humanitarian and a good and honest human being. He will be truly missed."

"I am sorry I was unable to attend. I offered to drive mom up but she thought it would be to much for her. I admired uncle Pat for his quiet authority. I took the name Patrick as my Confirmation name. I will miss my uncle Pat and remember him fondly."

"Dear Aunt Betty and family,
So sorry I was unable to be there at Uncle Pat's funeral. He was a very kind and grand man. He came to my assistance when I was in great need. We are all very proud of who he was and what he did for the police force and the American people, in a time of great turmoil. He was a true leader. God bless you and keep you always."

"Pat Murphy left a long, important legacy in American policing. I was privileged to interact with him during my tenure as Executive Director of NOBLE. I appreciated his wise counsel. May the family be comforted in your bereavement."
