January 17, 2017 "I met Gene Cernan on the way home from a girls softball game. I had most of my team players with me. He was in Dallas at a grand opening of a burger stand. He took all the time we needed to get autographs and pictures. The girls were 9 and ten at the time. Now in their 30s what a memory of meeting the last man wjo walked on the moon. Thank you Mr. Cernan for that memory and Godspeed through your heavenly journey." - Clarence Heim (Killeen (Dallas), TX)
January 16, 2017 "I had the distinct honor to participate in a meeting that had Gene, Harrison Schmidt, John Young and Neil Armstrong all discussing moon / Mars landers. I was amazed at the crisp, military sharp thinking and his wit. A rare combination!

Rest in peace - you have touched SO many folks that you could imagine." - Tom Diegelman (Seabrook, TX)
