September 25, 2018 "I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McDonald for the first time at an autograph signing in 2010. He took the time after the signing to speak with me for more than an hour, as if he knew me all my life. I sent him a letter the following week to thank him for his genuine kindness that day. He called my home to thank me for the letter and we began to call each other from time to time until he became sick. He was a very spiritual man who helped to instill in me, how important God is in our lives. He loved his family, and stressed how important his family was to him, and how it should be for me. I will always cherish those talks we had, and will deeply miss him forever. My sincerest condolences to the McDonald family. I share your sorrow.
