February 10, 2020 "At some point during our first year of law school at Fordham a few of us had privately nicknamed Professor Batts "Debbie Deb". One day, one of the students was feeling particularly happy to see her and he blurted out "Debbie Deb!" Next thing, Professor Batts' face was completely enveloped by that amazing smile of hers and, with that, the (no longer secret) name became official. She was as kind and inspirational as she was cool. And to me, she was the coolest professor ever. RIP Debbie Deb." - Laura Blackman (New Orleans, LA)
February 10, 2020 "Thank you so much for your trailblazing work. May love and comfort be with the family." - Clara
