Michele Hurst Obituary


Michele Lynn Hurst POQUOSON, VIRGINIA - Michele Lynn Hurst, 52, a native of Charlottesville, and Poquoson resident the past 10 years, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 22, 2013. She was an Executive Assistant at Specialty Food Groups Inc.; a devoted Christian and dedicated member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church; and an 11 year United States Air Force veteran. Michele was preceded in death by her father, James Walker. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Mercer Hurst; son, Dustin Hurst and wife, Karen, of Fairfax, Virginia; daughter, Torey Hurst of Poquoson; mother, Patricia Rowan Walker of Harrisonburg, Virginia; brothers, Michael E. Walker of Quinque, Virginia, and Mitch Rowan Walker of Poquoson; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 300 Ella Taylor Drive, Yorktown, by the Reverend Doug and Clara Gestwick, and the Reverend Brett Gresham. A reception will follow at the church. Burial will be private at a later date.
