Army Memorial Site: Notable Deaths & Obituaries

Emerging out of a fighting force George Washington led during the Revolutionary War, the U.S. Army has roots that extend back beyond the existence of the country itself. With more than a million people on active or reserve duty, the U.S. military's oldest branch remains one of the largest and proudest fighting forces in the world. This memorial site is dedicated to all who have served in the United States Army.

Castro, Henry G., WWII Army veteran, born November 5, 1923, passed away June 16, 2013 at the age of 89. Beloved husband to Tillie Castro for 63 years; loving father to Henry A. (Marti), David (Carmen), Anna (Jim), Steven (Rebecca), and Stephanie; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Services to be held at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana. Visitation Thursday June 20, 4pm-8pm. Funeral service Friday, June 21 at 12pm.
