STANLEY JACKSON LIPSCOMB Obituary


LIPSCOMB, Stanley Jackson Sr., born on July 9, 1918, of Hanover, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013. He was preceded in death by his son, Stanley Jackson Lipscomb Jr. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Willie Lipscomb; children, Ginger Defoe (Fred), Thomas Lipscomb (Patricia); four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bertha Eacho, Martha King and Susie Seamore (Eddie); and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lipscomb was a retired member of The Teamster Union #522, a WWII Army veteran and an avid fisherman. He attended Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Hanover. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, where services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the McGuire Veteran's Medical Center.
