"I remember the time when I met Neil. It was in 1963 shortly after his son's birth, when he flew a C47 aircraft up to Ely, Nv (High Range Tracking Station) to deliever supplies to us. We operated one of the tracking stations for the X-15 program and he was one of the test pilots. He passed out cigars and candy bars celebrating the birth of a son. I wish I had saved the cigar. But I cherish the NASA autographed picture of Neil and the other X-15 pilots. He will be greatly missed by all."
