JONES, Katherine Jeanne King, lost her courageous six-year battle with breast cancer on January 20, 2013. Kathy was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on June 16, 1964. She is survived by her husband of nearly 25 years, Charles Scott Jones; three children, Taylor Charles, Kaitlin Spencer and Zachary Joseph; her parents, Ron and Joann King of Virginia Beach; her sisters, Kimberly Pegram and her husband, Kenneth, and their son, Grant of Naperville, Illinois, Kristen Kirkman and her husband, Robert, and their daughters, Kelsey and Madison of Chesapeake, Va.; and her brother, Ronald King and his wife, Beth, and their children, Ashlyn and Ryder of Chesapeake, Va. Kathy was a graduate of VCU with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. She worked in retail fashion until she decided to devote herself full-time to her children. She was always available to lend her time and artistic talents to school activities. Her children's friends all knew and loved Mrs. Jones because she was regularly on the sidelines for volleyball and baseball or poolside for swimming. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, at Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Pkwy., Chesterfield, Va. 23832. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 8901 Winterpock Rd., Chesterfield, Va. 23832, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 24. Interment at 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1400 S. Randolph St. Richmond, Va. 23220. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Hawthorne Cancer Resource Center, 1401 Johnston-Willis Dr., Richmond, Va. 23235.
