PAMELA TOLBERT Obituary

TOLBERT, Pamela Hines, 59, of Richmond, passed away November 18, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Pam was born in Richmond on August 3, 1953, the daughter of Sherwood L. and Katherine W. Hines. She graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1971. Throughout her life she enjoyed volunteering through Branch's Baptist Church. Pam will be remembered forever for her love of family and friends, and her willingness to share her time and talents. She especially loved spending time at the Outer Banks, cross-stitching and delving into a great book. Some of her fondest memories were of childhood travels with her family. She had a strong work ethic throughout her life, regardless of the task at hand. Pam is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband of 30 years, Joseph F. Tolbert; daughter, Mary Katherine; son, Michael; sister, Nancy H. Johnson and her family; brother, Barry L. Hines and his family; her aunt, Pauline W. Miles; her dear childhood friend, Joan and husband, Durwood Stargadt, and their family; and many cousins. The family would like to thank the diligent and caring staff of the Massey Cancer Clinic and the VCU medical and surgical intensive care units. Pam's family will welcome friends on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. for a visitation at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). Her funeral service will follow at 3 p.m at the funeral home. Interment will be scheduled at a later date. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the VCU Massey Cancer Center, P.O. Box 843042, Richmond, Va. 23284.
