GUERRY, Robinson Sands, 66, died on March 25, 2013, in the company of her family, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, after a two and one half month struggle with recurrent breast cancer. Robin was the daughter of the late Oliver Jackson Sands and Courtenay Norton Sands, both of Richmond. She attended St. Catherine's School where she graduated in 1964 and went on to major in French and Mathematics at Salem College in Winston Salem, N.C., graduating in 1968. She attended Marymount School in Neuilly, France from 1957 to 1959 during her father's posting to Paris. There she developed a life long love of France and all things French. She taught French in the schools of Albemarle County, Virginia and on the Main Line outside of Philadelphia. For more than 15 years she worked as a francophone guide for Les Liaisons Delicieuses, a D.C. based organization specializing in culinary tours of France. She taught English and Mathematics at the Holy Trinity Episcopal School in La Cieba, Honduras, a place she dearly loved. At the time of her death, she was a director of the John Marshall Foundation. She was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Vail, Colorado. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dr. Richard Kennon Guerry; two sons, Dr. Christopher Haskins Guerry, and Ian Davenport Guerry; two daughters-in-law, Mikray Arupjan Guerry and Carrie Tassin Guerry; three siblings, Courtenay Sands Wilson, Oliver Jackson Sands, and James Keith Marshall Sands, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. After a private burial, a Memorial Service is planned for 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 2 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 12291 River Road, Richmond, Va.
