ADAMS, Susan. Susan's battle with cancer came to an end on April 8, 2013. She was 59. She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Edward Johnson; and mother, Pauline Elizabeth Attkisson. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Adams; sister, Jane Geracimos; brothers, Wheylan and Bruce Johnson; nieces, Tori Martino, Vicki Cribb and Sarah Johnson; nephew, Bobby Johnson; sisters-in-laws, Gail and Susan Johnson; and stepfather, Stuart Belvin. Words cannot capture the person and life of this incredible woman, but one word would be "wonderful." Susan loved life and the friends surrounding her through the last year. She was fun and engaging with a quick wit and sweet laugh. Susan believed that you learn and grow through "life lessons" in order to move forward with life, family, friends, work and God. Credit unions were the opportunity to show her strengths in the business world. Susan was President/CEO of Entrust Financial Credit Union in Richmond, Va., for 24 years. Credit unions were her life's work and she enjoyed helping her credit union members and nurturing her employees. Susan worked over the years with local, state and national credit union organizations. She served on the Boards of the Richmond Chapter of Credit Unions, Virginia Credit Union League and Virginia Corporate Federal Credit Union based in Lynchburg, Va. Susan was elected to serve as a Virginia National Delegate to the Credit Union National Association. Susan served on the Board of Directors as secretary for PSCU Financial Services based in St. Petersburg, Fla. Susan had a strong belief in helping the community through involvement with local charities such as Make-a-Wish Foundation and Children's Miracle Network. Her love of golf was instrumental in starting and running golf tournaments for these charities through the Richmond Chapter of CUs at Richmond Country Club. Susan also helped start a Breast Cancer Tournament at Stonehenge Country Club to raise money for the VCU Massey Cancer Center. She tried to make every holiday an event for her family and friends. Susan enjoyed decorating her home with the changing seasons, which was made special with the help of her personal best friend, Jean Hillsman. The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and staff of the Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital and Horizons Hospice for the loving care provided to Susan over the last year. Susan loved flowers, but it was her wish that friends and family, wanting to contribute in her honor, make a donation to the Capital Fund Campaign of Salisbury Presbyterian Church, 13621 W. Salisbury Rd., Midlothian, Va. 23113. A celebration of Susan's life will be held at Salisbury Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 17, at 11 a.m. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service. Arrangements by Bliley's-Chippenham. Online registry can be signed at
