Bronze Star Memorial Site: Notable Deaths & Obituaries

The Bronze Star is a U.S. military decoration awarded for bravery, acts of merit or meritorious service. Established in 1944, the medal has been awarded in every armed conflict in which the U.S. has been involved since WWII. The award is also open to members of foreign armed forces assisting in U.S. military efforts. This memorial site was created to honor the brave men and women who have been awarded Bronze Stars.

Leemon B. McHenry, retired United States Marine Corps Colonel, age 81 and resident of Covington, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He was born in Mobile, Alabama on June 4, 1933 to the late Harold & Dorothy McHenry. In addition to his parents, his son, Tommy McHenry, also preceded him in death.
