Hugh Marston Robinson Obituary

Hugh M. Robinson Captain Hugh M. Robinson, 97, died Saturday, July 13, 2013. His first wife, Peggy Town, died in 2002. Survivors include his wife, Dixie F. Robinson of Washington, D.C.; his son, Hugh M. Robinson Jr.; his daughter, Meg Robinson; his grandson, Christopher Robinson Strong; his four great-granddaughters, and many others including, Sam Fitzmaurice who is a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy. Hugh graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1938, and GW Law School in 1945. He served in the United States Navy for 30 years. During World War II, he was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He also received the French Foreign Legion of Honor. He commanded a squadron of PT boats, a heavy cruiser, and a destroyer. Also he served aboard an aircraft carrier and a battleship. A memorial service will be at the Knollwood Chapel, 6200 Oregon Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C., at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the US Naval Academy Foundation.
