French Shooting Victims Obituary

Twelve people have been killed in a shooting at the office of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, in what appears to have been a terrorist attack in retaliation to a cartoon by the magazine depicting ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Two police officers are among those killed, as well as the magazine's editor and several cartoonists. Rallies around France and the rest of Europe have drawn thousands of supporters expressing solidarity via the slogan "Je suis Charlie" ("I am Charlie"), and French President Francois Hollande has declared Thursday, Jan. 8 a national day of mourning.
