Civil Rights Memorial: Remembering the life, death and legacy of Amelia Boynton Robinson

Amelia Boynton Robinson, a U.S. civil rights activist who nearly died while helping lead the Selma, Alabama, civil rights march in 1965, championed voting rights for African-Americans and was the first black woman to run for Congress in that southern state, died Wednesday at 104, The Associated Press reported, attributing the information to her son Bruce Boynton. Boynton Robinson was among those beaten during the voting rights march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma in March 1965...
