Daniel J. O'Brien Obituary

Daniel J. O'Brien of Dodge Avenue passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Mary (Pistocco) O'Brien for over 30 years. Born April 2, 1959 in Boston, he was a son of the late Gerald and Jane (Marchand) O'Brien. Daniel was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and attended North Attleboro schools. He was employed at Franklin Lumber Co. for nearly 30 years and was a proud member of the B.P.O.E. "Elks" for 20 years, first in Franklin and then many years in North Attleboro. Dan was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He also loved spending time fishing and camping at Sandy Pond in Plymouth.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Casey Ann O'Brien of Mansfield, Daniel O'Brien, Jr. and his wife Kristen of North Attleboro and Megan Jane O'Brien of North Attleboro; six siblings: Patricia O'Brien of Auburn, ME, Phyllis Touchette of New Durham, NH, Carol O'Brien of GA, Gerald J. O'Brien, Jr. of Attleboro, James O'Brien of North Attleboro and Joseph O'Brien of New Bedford; also many nieces and nephews.
An Elk's Lodge Funeral Ritual will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 11-3 p.m. at the North Attleboro Elk's Lodge, 52 Bulfinch Street, North Attleboro.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Season's Hospice, 275 Grove Street, Newton, MA 02466.
