Nathan Hornburg Obituary


A nation mourns Cpl. Nathan Hornburg, who died in service to his country on September 24, 2007 during a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Hornburg, a 24-year-old reservist with the King’s Own Calgary Regiment, was killed in a prolonged firefight that saw four other NATO soldiers injured 47 km west of Kandahar City in the Panjwai District as part of Operation Good Soldier.

Hornburg is the 71st Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan.
