GEORGE TIPTON WILSON, journalist extraordinaire, passed on to his next assignment on May 21, 2013. Born in Smithland, Kentucky, in 1921, into the “greatest generation”, Wilson studied journalism at Murray State University and the University of Kentucky, leaving the latter to join the United States Army at the outbreak of World War II..
