Though Korean War hostilities lasted only three years, the "Forgotten War" has never really ended. By the time of the 1953 armistice, 1.9 million Americans had served in the conflict – and 37,000 of them never came home. This memorial site was created to honor and remember veterans of the Korean War. We will not forget you.

Stanley 'Stan' L. Schlemmer April 14, 1931 - Dec. 19, 2014 NORTH LIBERTY - Stanley "Stan" L. Schlemmer, 83, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at Cardinal Nursing and Rehab, South Bend. He retired from Bendix in 1986 after 36 years of service. Stan was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Marines.
