Korean War Memorial Site: Notable Deaths & Obituaries

Though Korean War hostilities lasted only three years, the "Forgotten War" has never really ended. By the time of the 1953 armistice, 1.9 million Americans had served in the conflict – and 37,000 of them never came home. This memorial site was created to honor and remember veterans of the Korean War. We will not forget you.

Rothermund Elmer Rothermund, 83, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Dublin Retirement Village. He was born on January 14, 1930 to the late Elmer and Freida (Gosney) Rothermund in Martins Ferry, OH. Elmer was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired after 44 years of service as an Agent for State Farm Insurance. Elmer and his family have been longtime members of Bethel United Methodist Church.
