Billie Bland Obituary

BLAND, Billie W., 82, of Chesterfield, a kind and gentle man who never met a stranger and never held a grudge, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 21, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gilly A. Bland; son, Mark Bland; daughter, Ashley Delp; granddaughter, Elizabeth Berkeley Delp. Billie was the youngest of Charlie and Ethel Bland's eight children. He retired from the U.S. Army, and was a Korean War veteran. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6415 Irongate Drive, N. Chesterfield, Va. 23234. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church. Interment will be private.
