Carroll Jones Obituary

Carroll Jackson Jones Carroll Jackson Jones, 82, of Ruckersville, died on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Grace Health and Rehab of Greene County. Born on April 14, 1931, in Albemarle County, he was a son of the late Lewis Thomas Jones and Vernie May Moore Jones. Mr. Jones was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired from Rivanna Water and Sewer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty M. Jones; four brothers, Walter, Robert, Thomas, and Franklin; and one sister, Hazel Lawson. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Hawkins; three sons, Carroll Jones, Danny Jones and Ronald Jones; one daughter, Fadana Kingrea; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lula Lamb and Lelia Martin. A graveside funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, with Pastor Buster Payne officiating. The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Martha Jefferson Hospital and Grace Health and Rehab for all of their caring help. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901. Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville, is in charge of arrangements.
