Edward Irvin Miller Edward Irvin Miller, 81, of Barboursville, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was born on May 23, 1931, in Richmond, a son of the late John Robert Miller Sr. and Sarah Dandridge Miller. Mr. Miller served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Reynolds Metal after thirty years. He was a founding member of the Barboursville Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Barboursville Masonic Lodge #112 for over fifty years. He was a former scoutmaster of troop 463, Order of the Arrow member and earned the Award of Merit and Wood Badge Beaded. He is survived by his wife, Helen L. Miller; children, Carol Davis and husband, Lindsay, Shirley Hoskin and husband, Scott, Robert Miller and wife, Cindy, Debbie Allen and husband, Donnie, Heather Summa, Laureen Newell and husband, Jerry, Bryan Miller and fiancee, Shelley Oman; stepchildren, Tamara L. Gibbs and husband, Donnie, Bradley Shoaf and wife, Terry, and Kimberly Shoaf; sister, Irene M. Keyseear; brother, John R. Miller Jr. and wife, Frances; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, six step grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lee Miller; son-in-law, Ray Summa; sisters-in-law, Carole Wright and Elaine Myers; brother-in-law, John Fredley; and his faithful four-legged friend, Daisy Mae. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy May Miller; siblings, Douglas F. Miller, Joyce M. Mays, Robert A. Miller and Jennifer Ann Miller; and his four-legged friend, Fiddo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville with Pastor Jack Shelar officiating. Interment will be private at Union Grove Christian Church Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the funeral home followed by a Masonic Service beginning at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barboursville Masonic Lodge # 112, P.O.
