Edward J. Metivier Jr. Obituary

Edward J. Metivier, Jr., age 82, of Tiverton, RI, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at Silver Creek Manor. He was the husband of the late Claire (Massey) Metivier. Edward was born in Fall River, a son of the late Edward J., Sr. and Rose (Hebert) Metivier. Mr. Metivier served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a shipper/receiver for LG Balfour for many years before his retirement and enjoyed working in his yard. He is survived by his six children, Michael Metivier & his wife Robin of Westport, Carol Ponte & husband Frederick of Westport, Jeffrey Metivier & companion Casilda of Bristol, RI, Diane Howard & husband David of Rehoboth, MA, Kevin Metivier & wife Kimberly of Fall River and Kimberly Tavares & husband Mark of Portsmouth, RI; a brother, Albert Metivier & wife Lorraine of Portsmouth, RI; eleven grandchildren, Dylan Metivier, Matthew & Jeremy Ponte, Jeffrey Metivier, Nathan Howard, Samantha, Anndreana, Kevin & Kenzyngtin Metivier and Jaxon & Riley Tavares; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Richard Metivier, grandfather of the late Gabriel Metivier and brother of the late Pauline Tetrault & Jacqueline Viens. Mr. Metivier's funeral will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 8:00AM from the BOULE FUNERAL HOME, 615 Broadway, Fall River, MA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in Holy Ghost Church, 316 Judson Street, Tiverton, RI. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Flowers are welcome, or Memorial Gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
