MORCK, John Evert,

a 1st generation Swedish-American, born February 16,1934 in Brooklyn, N.Y., passed into eternal peace, January 18, 2013, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsa and Gustaf Morck; brother, Gusta Morck; and sister, Lillian Schenkelberger Lampe. He is survived by his devoted loving wife, Carole Edwards Morck, married just shy of 49 years; and three daughters, Leslie Stone, Corey McDonald, (Christopher) and Whitney Davis (Will); grandchildren, Devon Halbert, Ian McDonald, Taylor McDonald, Hayden Davis, Ryley Stone; and great-granddaughter, Madeline Bender. He is also, survived by his sister, Anna Lisa Fletcher of Texas; and brother, Sven Morck; and sister-in-law, Marita Morck of Richmond; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins in America and Sweden. John was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the Air Force. He was a 47-year member of Welborne United Methodist Church. He was an entrepreneur who had owned several businesses and was a very skilled craftsman with a talent for home remodeling.

The family greatly appreciates the care given for many years at McGuire Veterans Hospital and in his last days by Aseracare Hospice. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Dr., at 2 p.m. Contributions may be made to Welborne and/or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
