James "Dick" HARDAWAY Obituary

HARDAWAY, James "Dick" Kenneth, 85, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 28, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife, Grace Pride Hardaway; sisters-in-law, Mae Daniel of Barboursville, W.Va., and Christine Hardaway of Blackstone; 48 nieces and nephews, three stepchildren; "adopted" daughters, Renee Oliva and Sherry Mueller of Chesterfield; and his lap dog, Chelsea. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Carroll Hardaway; parents, William Kenneth and Mary Garland Hardaway; brothers, William and Wallace Hardaway. James served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Metals after 28 years of service. He had a passion for his woodworking, service to his church and others. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake View Cemetery in Blackstone, Va., at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3400 Courthouse Rd., N. Chesterfield, Va. 23236.
