Edward P. Novak Obituary


Edward P. Novak On Wednesday, October 31, 2012, Edward P. Novak of Manassas, Virginia passed away peacefully at his home. Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Michael and Pauline Novak. After his enlistment in the Marine Corps, which included participation in the 1958 Lebanon Crisis, he worked briefly for the Federal Aviation Administration in Leesburg, Virginia. Mr. Novak retired after 35 distinguished years with the Department of the Army Night Vision Laboratories. Mr. Novak was the devoted husband to Mary Boomer Novak for 50 years. He was the beloved father to Melissa Novak of Manassas and Paul and Karen Novak of Ashburn; affectionate grandfather to Kimberly and Billy Duvall, Lindsey Novak and L/CPL Joey Novak. He is also survived by two sisters, Alice Nowaczek of Columbus, Ohio and Connie Colvin of Baker, Oregon and many adoring nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 8, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas with Rev.John Melmer officiating. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle,Virginia with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor online at littlesistersofthepoorvirginia.org or by mail at Little Sisters of the Poor, 1503 Michaels Road, Henrico, Virginia 23229 Condolences may be sent to www.piercefh.com.
