GRAVATT, Edwin A., 87, of Richmond, Va., passed away October 11, 2012. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Dorothy; sons, Edwin A. Gravatt Jr., Ronald E. Gravatt, Ph.D. and his wife, Martha; daughter, Cynthia G. Utley and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Patricia, Daryl and Susan; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret G. Nixon, Annette G. Grissom and her husband, Jimmy. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII. Between 1959 and 1965, he owned a typewriter business in Roanoke, Va., and was the owner of Acme Plastic Engraving for the past 30 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. His remains rest at Bliley's- Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., and where a ceremony will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., followed by Interment in Dale Memorial Park.
