DELL, Harold E., Richmond, Va., age 87, born to Robert Dell Sr. and Florence Woolsey of Newburgh, N.Y., peacefully went home to be with Jesus on February 23, 2013 after a very long illness. Harold was born in Newburgh, N.Y. on March 7, 1925. He attended Newburgh schools and Orange County Community College. On January 29, 1943, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, and became a aircraft mechanic. He served in the Okinawa campaign and Iwo Jima and was honorably discharged March 26, 1945. Harold was married to Marion Thorne on November 4, 1951 and became a sheet metal mechanic for Local Union #38. He was very involved at the Church of God in Cornwall, N.Y. Some of his church services included accounting, building maintenance and repairs, food bank, sound system and the start of a book ministry that is still up and running today. February 2001 he moved to Richmond Va. and became a member at Faith Landmark Ministries. Harold is survived by devoted wife, Marion Dell; three loving children, Donna Dell Barr (Mark, predeceased), Wayne Dell (Linda), Craig Dell (Noel); 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Dell Jr., he was predeceased by Donald Dell (Lucille, predeceased); sisters, Dorothy Northrip (Kenneth), Jean Saunders (Hy, predeceased) and Ruth Tesman (Edward, predeceased). The family of Harold E. Dell wishes to thank our extended church families as we have truly appreciated all of your prayers and support. In addition, we would like to send a special thank you to all of the nurses, volunteers and caregivers that assisted with Harold's health to ensure that he received the best of care. His remains rest at Bliley's Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where the family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 and where a Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., March 2, 2013 with Military Honors.
