Lauritz William Young Obituary


Lt Col, Lauritz William Young Lt Col, Lauritz (Larry) William Young, USMC (ret), 89, of Dumfries, VA, passed away on July 16, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jean Young; daughter Rosalie Young; sister Waldine Morris and sister-in-law Bonnie Young both of Texas; and Katherine D Mack and Leslie D Smith whom he considered as daughters.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline L. Young; son William J. Young; grandson Kyle D. Mack; brother Delbert Young and sister Dorine Armstrong.

Lauritz served in the USMC for 32 years, he was a 32nd degree Mason, Sojourner, a life member of the American Legion Post 28, and a life member of the VFW Post 1503. A Memorial Service will be held at Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel, Triangle, VA on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, http://www.marineheritage.org/ Arrangements are under the direction of Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, VA.
