MECA WILLIAMS Obituary

Meca J. Williams The mysterious angel of death has visited our family again and taken from our midst Meca Ja'von Williams on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013. Whereas, God and His infinite wisdom and mercy has removed Meca from us, but we are better because of our brief association with him. Born 38 years ago to the parentage of the late Mrs. Betty Jean Williams and to Mr. Johnny Robinson, he became a Christian and began his work in Christ's Kingdom at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina. He was educated in the Florence County School system obtaining his high school diploma from West Florence High School in 1993. November 1993, Meca enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a Radio Operator. He rose to the rank of Master Sergeant on March 1, 2013 and assumed to job of Communications Chief for 3rd Battalion 12th Marines on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. He exemplifies the Marine Corps Motto of Semper Fidelis, (Always Faithful) not only to the Marine Corps, but also to his family and friends. During his time in the Marine Corps he had the opportunity to expand and broaden his horizons and work with several Marines that he considered his brothers and sisters of the Corp. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan in 1998, he met the love of his life Shawn Tamille Hagans. They were united in holy matrimony on February 27, 2000. To this union two beautiful sons were born: Jalen Ja'von and Devin Jaden. He was an avid Washington Redskins football fan and a computer wiz. He had an infectious smile and laugh. He loved his family and that love was reciprocated. Cherishing loving memories are, his devoted wife of 13 years Shawn Hagans Williams; two sons Jalen and Devin; father, Johnny Robinson; three brothers, Varick (Judy) Williams, Kevin Robinson, and Johnny (Michelle) Robinson II; two sisters Quavia (Roy) Smith and Krystal Johnson; mother-in-law, Christine Rooks Walker; father-in-law, S. Lee Hagans; brother-in-law, Eric Hagans; sisters-in-law, Adia (Kevin) Paige, Krista (Daryl) Evans; a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
