Paul Frederick Stuhr Obituary



Paul Frederick Stuhr, age 81, passed away July 23, 2013, in Council Bluffs.

He was born on December 23, 1931, in Avoca, Iowa, to John Stuhr and Matilda Pieper Stuhr. The family lived on a farm in Hancock until 1941 when they moved to Minden. He graduated from Minden High School in 1950. Paul joined the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War until 1953. He returned to Omaha and worked for E. A. Pedersen Electrical Contractors. On August 3, 1956, he married Ann Christine Thomsen of Council Bluffs. Their daughter, Margaret was born in 1964. In 1984 Paul joined H. K. Scholz Co., continuing in the electrical contracting business.

He truly enjoyed his work and the people he worked with so much that after officially retiring he worked part-time until his illness in January 2010. Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Kriewald; and brother, John C. Stuhr.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Stuhr; daughter, Margaret McClenny (Christopher); granddaughters, Sarah Christine and Evelyn Jane McClenny; sister, Jean Lemonds, of Clive, Iowa; nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation Sunday, 4 to 5:30 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Graveside service and burial Monday, 9:30 a.m., in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Visitation with the family Monday, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at New Horizon Presbyterian Church, Rev. Paul Masters, officiating. A lunch will immediately follow. Memorials are suggested to Asera Care Hospice, New Horizon Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
