THOMAS RAABE Obituary


RAABE, Thomas Willam Jr., age 84, of Henrico, Va., went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2013, while surrounded by his family. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. Raabe and Daisy Miles Raabe. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Owens Raabe, and his children, Billy Raabe (Sandy), Jo Ann Heiry (Denis), Linda Swingle (Finley), Debbie Hargrave (John) and Steven Raabe; and his eight beloved grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Tommy served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was an retired electrician from IBEW Local Union 666 for 58 years and longtime member of the ACCA Temple Shriners and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family at the Outer Banks, fishing, trips to Atlantic City and always enjoyed spending time with his friends. Tommy had a special love for his wife, Frances; his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His remains rest at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday (today), and where a Masonic Service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the Staples Mill Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
