POHLIG, William M. Jr. "Billy," 74, of Warsaw, passed away suddenly July 1, 2013. Born June 8, 1939 to the late Helen and William Pohlig Sr., he was also preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Walton. Left to cherish his memory, are his former wife and friend, Mary Pohlig; devoted children, Deborah Pohlig and Bubba Pohlig and his wife, Kim; sister, Ann Walton; four grandchildren, Allan Lockett and Braxton, Krista and Tiffany Pohlig. Billy served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960. After his service to his country, he founded Pohlig's Lawn and Garden Equipment Company in Mechanicsville. After his retirement in 2002, he opened Pohlig's Lawn and Garden Equipment Company in Warsaw, and worked there until the time of his death. Billy loved his family, working on engines, gardening, fishing and boating. He was also a dedicated member of Cobham Park Baptist Church in Warsaw. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., on Friday, July 5, 2013 with a memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. Interment private. A memorial service will also be held 3 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Cobham Park Baptist Church, 13829 Historyland Hwy. (Rte. 3), Warsaw, Va. 22572. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cobham Park Baptist Church.
