"I learned of Mr Parnell's death in the Washington Post. My brothers, sister and I met Mr. Parnell when we went to buy a 1957 purple and white Plymouth Belvedere (my mother's request even though she did not drive). My dad, Joe Macaluso, played sandlot ball with Mr. Parnell in the "old" neighborhood. They last had contact when both were undergoing treatment in 2003 (a few months before dad died). I understand that they had a great time reminiscing and the doctors and the nurses got the biggest kick out of their stories. RIP Mr Parnell - I know you and dad are catching up on old times now."
