Bertha Arlene Cooper Obituary



Bertha Arlene Cooper, 88, of Petersburg, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012.

She was born on July 10, 1924, in Albemarle County, and was preceded in death by her parents, Richard M. Sr. and Bertha Shackelford Moon; husband, John M. Cooper; four brothers, Richard, Thomas, Stuart, and Robert Moon; and two sisters, Dorothy Davis and Blanche Parrott.

Arleen was a member of Gill Grove Baptist Church since 1985 and a member of Dinwiddie Chapter 1296 Women of the Moose.

She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Mawyer of Hickory, North Carolina; brother, Billy Moon of Charlottesville; and five nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southlawn Memorial Park in the Mausoleum. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
