John Walter Collier Sr. Obituary

John Walter Collier John Walter Collier Sr., 64, of Gordonsville, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012.

He was born on March 7, 1948, in Greene County, the son of the late Earl and Finnie Florene Morris Collier.

Mr. Collier was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam Era where he was injured and disabled. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Veteran's of Foreign War.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Jason Wayne Collier; and a daughter, Pamela Roberts. Mr. Collier is survived by a daughter, Jessica DeBoer and husband, Ben, of Madison; a son, John Walter Collier Jr. of Orange; two brothers, William Earl "Willie" Collier and wife, Margaret, of Martinsburg West Virginia, Norman Reed Collier and wife, Judy, of Winchester; three sisters, Mildred Faye Dunnivan and husband, Billy, of Barboursville, Anette Smithwick and husband, Billy, of Gordonsville, and Patsy Ann Shipp and husband, Bo, of Barboursville; two half brothers, Kevin Collier of Ruckersville and Jody Collier of Tennesee; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Orange Assembly of God Church with full military honors. Pastor Greg Vogt will officiate the service.

Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
