But anyone who has ever served in the Navy knows that their work goes far beyond any official mission statement. Navy Memorial: Remembering the life, death and legacy of James Poynter

James Scott Poynter, 64, of The Woodlands, TX, passed away on October 19, 2014 in Bandera, TX. He was born in Maitland, MO to Eugene and Betty Stone-Poynter on September 14, 1950. Due to several family relocations, Scott went to grade school in Iowa, Missouri, Louisiana, and graduated from high school in Holton, Kansas in 1968. He was an Eagle Scout and an all-star football, basketball, and softball player. Scott served in the Navy during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Morocco....
