ANTHONY PETRAITIS Obituary


PETRAITIS, Anthony Elio, died March 15, 2013. Tony was born August 16, 1948, on the South Side of Chicago, Ill. He was the only child of Veronica and Anthony Petraitis. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marie; his most loved daughter, Nicole; and son-in-law, Jeff Kent; and his precious grandchildren, Xander, 7 and Willow, 4; and their dog, Chloe'. Tony spent his last few hours with his beloved family. Tony served 23 years in the U.S. Navy and Air Force combined. Tony is also survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jackie and Roger Swanberg of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews who called him "Uncle Pizza." His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany, 11000 Smoketree Drive. Burial will be held in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105, in Tony's name.
