Frederick L. Hite Obituary

Frederick L. Hite, age 88, of Council Bluffs, passed away at his home on July 23, 2013.

He was born in Mahaska County, Iowa, on December 21, 1924, to the late Floyd and Ada (McFall) Hite.

After high school he served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He farmed and then worked as a supervisor for Safeway and retired after 25 years. Fred and his late wife, May Dean had started OG Crafts and Engraving.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, May Dean Hite; sister, Doris Lanphier.

Fred is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Linda Hite; daughter, Beverly Hite; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Hazel Hite; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation is Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment is in the Ridgewood Cemetery followed by a reception in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Hospice.
